How to Save on Inks

 by: Karen Nodalo

Printers are very important in our everyday lives. Home printers or even office printers are a part of our daily lives. If you have been used to having a printer around, you may not live for a day without it. Printers print important documents that we use everyday.

Technology has been enhancing printers from time to time and printers are also getting affordable. Anyone can buy their own use at home or at the office. Especially now that printers have been fully developed, it will be more advantageous to buy one. Printer capabilities at this time are pretty amazing. Just thinking of it, you will find yourself pondering whether you want to buy one. Most people would think of buying a second hand printer because of its low cost. If they find out about that the prices of printers have gone down, would they still go for second hand printers? Second hand printer prices are not far from the price of brand new printers and the advantage of buying new printers is that you can have a warranty when it fails.

Most people think that buying printers even at a low cost would still be costly because of the inks and cartridge. It is for a fact that inks are expensive and there might be no hope that its prices will go down but there are ways on how to save on inks.

In order to make the most out of your printer ink cartridges, there are four ways to keep in mind. First, always make sure that the printer options have been set to economy print or draft print. If you are not sure of what you are printing, there?s no need to print it on standard mode. Print on the draft mode until you come up with the final print which you need for a presentation or documented report.

Remember that you should choose black and white print if you are not printing colored pages or documents. Have the black and white printing set for your scratch or draft documents. When you are sure of what you are printing, you can already print the colored version. This is an effective way to save inks.

Also, keep in mind that no matter how you save on inks, it will not last forever so you should learn to save money if the inks ran out when you are not expecting it to.

Buying A Computer vs. Building Your Own

Buying A Computer vs. Building Your Own

 by: Jared Strop

It happens to everyone in their lifetime?getting a new computer. The thing you gotta think about is if you want to build a computer or buy it pre-built. What?s the difference, you say? Well, there are certain advantages and disadvantages to each.

First of all, pre-built computers come with some parts you don?t want or need as well as useless software. On the other hand, building a computer lets you decide exactly what to put in it and what to install on your computer. That helps out by freeing the hard drive, but sometimes computer companies have great deals on their software bundles. If you know somebody that has the software, don?t bother buying a pre-built computer. You can just use his/hers for free (unless they charge you haha).

Secondly, building a computer is usually cheaper since you don?t pay for labor. All you do is pick out the parts you want in the computer, put them together,...

Computer Certification: Keeping Your Cool On Exam Day

Computer Certification: Keeping Your Cool On Exam Day

 by: Chris Bryant, CCIE #12933

When you wake up on exam day, one of two things is going to happen. Well, yes, you're going to pass or fail. But what I'm thinking of comes before that, and has a lot to do with how you perform on exam day.

You're either going to have a tremendous feeling of anticipation or the dreaded feeling of being nervous about it.

Anticipation is a great thing to feel on exam day. You're driving to the exam center, excited about the exam. You're much like a football player, slapping another player on the helmet or the shoulder pads before the game starts. (Warning: Don't try this on the exam proctor.) You know there's a challenge ahead, but you're looking forward to it. In your mind, you're already victorious you're at the testing center only to make it official.

Conversely, there's nothing worse than being nervous or feeling unprepared before the exam. I've...

Keyboard Power: Using Your Computer Even if Your Mouse ?Dies?

Keyboard Power: Using Your Computer Even if Your Mouse ?Dies?

 by: Ismael D. Tabije

There are various accessories that could help operating a computer easier. The mouse is just an example of an accessory which makes navigation simple with just one click. However, most of these accessories have short ?lifespan? and can be considered disposable. This is when the accessories can become bothersome.

What are you to do, when in the middle of an important document, your mouse decides to ?die?? Would you worry? Would you panic and run to the nearest store? What if it?s night time and the stores are closed and you are rushing up your work?

On your keyboard, immediately press CTRL + S simultaneously to save whatever it is you?re doing. That way, you don?t lose your work. This is a common and one of the most familiar tasks without using the mouse. If the mouse is not functioning and you need to do something important but you don?t have the time to...

Protect your Computer and Internet Privacy

Protect your Computer and Internet Privacy

 by: Alex Marias

Is a known fact that every time you open a browser to view a web page, order something online, or read your email in a web based viewer that information is stored on your computer for later use. Whether you are viewing the weather online, reading sports, catching up on the latest world news or viewing something a little more private, all that information is stored in your computer. Windows operating systems store all this material in what are called Temporary Internet Files or cache. Web pages may store bits of information about who you are when you visit web sites in files called cookies on your computer. Your web browser will store a list of web sites you've visited and places you've gone in a history file in your computer. Even if you are not online, programs will store histories of the files you've opened, played, or viewed.

Generally there might not be any reason to worry about...
