PC Computer Game - Engaging Realism And Imagination

 by: John Rivers

The development of personal computer games from simple multimedia exercises to the current trend that involves very sophisticated graphics, operating system and surround sound system have been very fast and impressive.

The varieties of games that are being marketed online and in the regular outlets account for thousand of varieties. The games range from strategic, real time, role playing, shoot em up, beat em up, third person shooters, racing and simulation to name the most popular.

As video stores are selling a multitude of choices, it is smart that parents use good judgment in the games that children play on their Personal computers. The best way to do this is to check the package information of the game about the age groups that the game is intended for.

This is important as some games contain very violent scenes, sexual themes, the use of tobacco, alcohol and illegal drugs. However, parental settings that are printed on the packaging label make it possible for guardians to password protect parts of the game so that the more adult parts of the games are not being accessed while the child still enjoys a perfectly playable version.

Because of the variety of games being marketed, choices can prove to be a challenge. It is not uncommon for the buyer to choose a game that has been recommended by a friend. However if you want something that is different, it is not enough to pick the game that will be interesting to you personally, or to the person that the personal computer game is intended for. Remember to look also on the Minimum PC requirements.

Another factor that is also to be considered is what the game is for. There are games that offer purely gaming enjoyment while there are those that are educational and informative. Some are especially designed for children, toddlers, teenagers, they come virtually for all age groups and intentions. Some of the best family games combine education with entertainment.

The largest groups of games and the best selling are the mind games. These are basically designed for adults and will take hours of playing.

Adventure games are onee of the oldest variety. The design of these games often includes a number of very beautifully drawn locations. Adventure games, unlike most other game designs, involve lateral thinking. The player travels from place to place in quest of an objective. The player often meets villains or impediments in his search for clues. Another component of adventure gaming is humor.

Another big seller for personal computer games are action heroes. The focus here is in fighting, shooting, beating the opponent up, and jumping across platforms. While this may sound violent, there are action games that are designed for children often coupled with humor and fun.

Simulators are also good sellers. Whether it be driving, sailing, flying and racing, there are simulators that are designed to familiarize the player with the actual handling of the vehicle to simulate the real one. There are even simulators that are being used for professional training.

Sports Games are very popular among the teens and early twenties. Many good personal computer sport games have been designed for realism.

Classic games like chess, backgammon and pool are also featured in many variations. The main task of these games is often to beat the computer that leaves most players very challenged.

Personal computer games today are being developed to capture the players' imagination on its realism. As personal computer games have continually attracted investors and designers, expect that personal computer games will become even better in a few months to come.

Protect Your Computer From Adware & Spyware

 by: George Williams

Are you annoying of adware and spyware every time you open any websites? They have now reached epidemic proportions. They are every where in the cyber world. Here are four methods to remove or simply avoid adware and spyware without spending a dime on the latest "anti-virus" software.

1. Do not use Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is like Swiss cheese. It is open to the world by default. Microsoft is continually releasing patches to fix all the flaws in the Internet Explorer 6.X and lower versions of the browser. Although it can be "secured" by increasing the security it may loose much of its functionality once set to maximum security with certain exploitable features off.

2. It is highly recommended you should use Firefox. If you don't use the Internet much, than perhaps you don't know much about Firefox. All you need to know is that it is a browser that works REALLY...

Computer Motherboard Guide

Computer Motherboard Guide

 by: Peter Stewart

The heart of any computer is the motherboard. It is that big board inside the computer that everything is connected to. It performs the role of traffic lights and policemen, directing flows of information to where they are needed, when they are needed.

Choosing the right motherboard does not have to be a huge issue, even though there is a lot to consider. I will start off with the most major parts and move onto the the things that are less important or non-essential.

Firstly is the socket type.

The socket is the place where the processor (CPU) connects to the motherboard. There is no compatiblility between sockets, so it has to be the right one. The socket connection needs to match the connection of the processor you have or the one you intend to buy for the computer.

Most older Intel Pentium 4s utilise socket 478. Newer ones use socket 775. AMD chips utilised socket A for a long...

 by: Stuart Simpson

The next printer you?ll want on your desk is a color laser printer.
Forget those cheap outdated inkjet printers.
They are cheap for one reason, to get you to buy ink.
I?m not making that up.
It came right from an executive of a leading inkjet printer manufacturer.

Do you have a black and white laser printer?
These gems are the best for the home office.
Cheap, guilt free printing with high quality usually reserved for a large office.
The price is right on the home models.
You can almost buy one for the cost of a black and a color ink cartridge.

Cleaning Your Computer Will Help It Last Longer And Work Better

Cleaning Your Computer Will Help It Last Longer And Work Better

 by: Scott Dary

To clean your mouse ? The trackball can pick up dirt and dust from your desk and mouse pad. Also, the wheels that the trackball come in contact with get dirty and need to be cleaned. If you notice your mouse "doesn't work right", it may be time to clean it. First, turn your PC off. Turn your mouse over and you will see the ball sticking out of a cover. Look at the arrows on the cover and turn it in the indicated direction to open it up. Don?t worry about anything falling out. The only thing that comes out is the ball, and maybe a little dust, and you want to take that out anyway.
You can clean the ball with alcohol if it needs it, but usually just wiping it off will work. A cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol works well for cleaning the wheels. When you?re done, drop the ball back in and put the cover back on. If cleaning it doesn?t help, it may be time to replace...

Not to worry! Even though they are the products of advanced technology, the various pieces of a personal computer (PC) fit together with simple connections. If you can use a screwdriver and follow simple instructions, you can build your own PC.

Don't be intimidated by the task of connecting the computer components together. Many of the internal connections are molded so that it is impossible to fit them together the wrong way. If you have ever assembled a child's toy, you are more than capable of assembling a computer.

Buying A Computer vs. Building Your Own

Buying A Computer vs. Building Your Own

 by: Jared Strop

It happens to everyone in their lifetime?getting a new computer. The thing you gotta think about is if you want to build a computer or buy it pre-built. What?s the difference, you say? Well, there are certain advantages and disadvantages to each.

First of all, pre-built computers come with some parts you don?t want or need as well as useless software. On the other hand, building a computer lets you decide exactly what to put in it and what to install on your computer. That helps out by freeing the hard drive, but sometimes computer companies have great deals on their software bundles. If you know somebody that has the software, don?t bother buying a pre-built computer. You can just use his/hers for free (unless they charge you haha).

Secondly, building a computer is usually cheaper since you don?t pay for labor. All you do is pick out the parts you want in the computer, put them together,...
