When you rely on your printer to produce quality printouts on demand, there is no time for a delay due to misinformation from your printing machine. Unfortunately, a common occurrence in the new Epson model ink jet printers is that the chip will think the printer is out of ink when in fact it is not. In order to guarantee that this does not happen to you, it is wise to use a chip resetter.
Beginning in 2000, Epson began the addition of chips onto the 870 series cartridges. These cartridges, referred to as ?intellidge,? can now be found in all current Epson printers. The chip essentially sits on the cartridge and is connected to the circuitry in the printer. When the chip detects that the micro-droplets printed have reached their maximum, it disables the printer. Despite the fact that your cartridge may not actually be empty, the chip will still prevent you from completing your print job displaying an message that you are out of ink.
The presence of this chip will also prevent your printer from recognizing when you refill the same cartridge with ink as it will only remember the amount of ink printed. In principle, it is useful to have a way of monitoring the life span of your cartridge, but if your printer is constantly being overruled by an overzealous chip, you need to find a way to rectify the situation. The addition of an Epson chip resetter will ensure that your print jobs are not interrupted unnecessarily.
The Epson chip resetter has the ability to override a difficult chip that is telling your printer that it is out of ink. With a resetter tool, it is possible, whenever necessary, to reset the memory chip. This simple resetting process allows the printer to recognize that a new cartridge has been installed and is full.
To make the addition of a resetter tool even easier it is possible to purchase a universal resetter that can reset any Epson printer cartridge chip.
To use your new tool, remove your colour or black cartridge from your printer and place the resetter against the green chip on the cartridge.
A light will flash then become solid green, indicating that your chip has been successfully reset. Now you are ready to replace the cartridge into your printer.
No one likes it when a mechanism that is designed to make life easier, actually makes life more difficult. Unfortunately, the addition of the Epson chips onto the cartridges of many printers has had just that effect. To ensure that your print job is never unnecessarily interrupted again, and to safeguard the efficiency of your printer, use an Epson chip resetter. The tool is easy to use and in the end, will spare you aggravation and save you precious time.

Cleaning Your Computer Will Help It Last Longer And Work Better
by: Scott Dary
To clean your mouse ? The trackball can pick up dirt and dust from your desk and mouse pad. Also, the wheels that the trackball come in contact with get dirty and need to be cleaned. If you notice your mouse "doesn't work right", it may be time to clean it. First, turn your PC off. Turn your mouse over and you will see the ball sticking out of a cover. Look at the arrows on the cover and turn it in the indicated direction to open it up. Don?t worry about anything falling out. The only thing that comes out is the ball, and maybe a little dust, and you want to take that out anyway.
You can clean the ball with alcohol if it needs it, but usually just wiping it off will work. A cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol works well for cleaning the wheels. When you?re done, drop the ball back in and put the cover back on. If cleaning it doesn?t help, it may be time to replace...

All In One Printers ? Home Office Workhorses
by: Bill Smith
All in one printers, also known as multifunction printers (MFPs), are printers that also can copy, scan, and in some cases, fax. These machines perform all of these functions, generally using a single set of ink cartridges for both printing and copying. They are not much larger than stand-alone printers, making them a great tool for small home offices.
You can find an excellent all-on-one Epson printer for under $200 ? a steal if you ask me. Have you ever priced a copying machine? Good luck finding one for under $750. These little gems produce high quality printouts and color copies that are indistinguishable from the originals. You?d think that these machines would ?drink? ink ? I was pleasantly surprised to find that this is not the case. The copying process uses about the same quantity of ink as the printing process.
Most MFPs offer high resolution, photo-quality printouts without...

Computer Certification: Become A Utility Player
by: Chris Bryant, CCIE #12933
In baseball, a "utility player" is one who plays more than one position.
These players are usually backups, but they have a job in the major leagues because of their value to the team; since they can play more than one position, they have that much more value to their employer.
Too often in IT, workers become either LAN or WAN engineers, knowing little if anything about the other side.
Many LAN administrators I worked with knew little about routing and switching, while many WAN engineers I knew not only didn't know much about the LAN side of their network, but they didn't want to know anything about the servers!
In today's IT world, it's a bad idea to specialize in only one thing and not know how to do anything else.
Not only does it limit your future career prospects, but it limits your current prospects as well.
Employers...

Drop On Demand Printers
by: Bill Smith
Most HP and Epson printers are drop on demand printers. They use electrical pulses to fulfill requests for ink. The ink is expelled out of the print head by a bubble which forms as a reaction to being heated. Once the ink is propelled out of the cartridge, the bubble cools, contracts, and forms a vacuum of sorts, which pulls more ink into the nozzle.
HP DeskJets and BubbleJets are popular examples of printers that use this technology.
Epson printers work on the same principal with the exception of a minor twist ? they use a transducer to produce the droplets in what is referred to as piezoelectric DOD.
So what about the ink ? does it matter what kind you buy as a replacement?
The answer is yes, it does matter.
The ingredients that go into ink play a huge role in the quality of your printouts. All ink manufactures work to strike the delicate balance between print quality, time it...

Buying A Computer vs. Building Your Own
by: Jared Strop
It happens to everyone in their lifetime?getting a new computer. The thing you gotta think about is if you want to build a computer or buy it pre-built. What?s the difference, you say? Well, there are certain advantages and disadvantages to each.
First of all, pre-built computers come with some parts you don?t want or need as well as useless software. On the other hand, building a computer lets you decide exactly what to put in it and what to install on your computer. That helps out by freeing the hard drive, but sometimes computer companies have great deals on their software bundles. If you know somebody that has the software, don?t bother buying a pre-built computer. You can just use his/hers for free (unless they charge you haha).
Secondly, building a computer is usually cheaper since you don?t pay for labor. All you do is pick out the parts you want in the computer, put them together,...

What's The Point For Computer Optimization?
What's The Point For Computer Optimization?
by: Ted Peterson
I am sure you've heard a lot of things about computer optimization. Everywhere you look you see ads that invite you to "boost your performance" or "improve your computer". So, what's the idea? Is anything true about it? Does your computer really need optimization?
Unfortunately, it does. There are many weak zones in Windows operating system. Here are a few of them:
- registry
- hardware management
- internet connection
Registries are Windows's internal database. All sort of information are stored there, from hardware and drivers info to applications' settings. After each removal of any device, like a printer or video card, pieces of information remain there. The biggest problem is when you uninstall a program. Unfortunately, many applications fail to erase all their data on removal. A solution for this is to run "regedit" and manually search for all references...
